Multimedia audio engineer
What you would do
1. Architect and build the multimedia audio stack on Android and embedded Linux or RTOS, from the application API through Framework, HAL, and the chip driver.
2. Lead the Linux/Android audio framework (ALSA, AudioFlinger, AudioPolicyManager), and improve routing, codec flow, and multi-device handling.
3. Develop and debug Linux/Android drivers for audio codecs, DSPs, and smart amplifiers, including I2S, PCM, and TDM.
4. Fix voice, record, and playback quality, including latency, noise floor, artifacts, and dropouts.
5. Integrate and tune AEC, AGC, NS, and KWS, improve clarity and signal-to-noise, and bring the algorithms up with the algorithm and hardware teams.
6. Work on multimedia design and hard problems, follow the field, and lead technology choices, early study, and patents.
What we look for
1. Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, electronic engineering, or communications, with more than five years at a chip vendor or a design house. A strong candidate can have fewer years.
2. A deep grasp of the Linux/Android audio framework, plus framework design, driver work, and audio-algorithm integration.
3. Voice algorithms, audio/video codecs, media containers, or GStreamer and FFmpeg are welcome.
4. Work well across teams, and stay with a problem until it is clear.
5. Steady under a deadline, and able to use AI tools to move the work along.
