Multimedia display engineer
What you would do
1. Architect and build the multimedia display stack on Android and embedded Linux, from the application API through Framework, HAL, and the chip driver.
2. Validate the display IP, develop and maintain the driver, bring the display up, and fix performance issues.
3. Work on chip-level display design and hard problems: low latency, high throughput, low power, low memory, and picture quality in the display pipeline.
4. Follow 2.5D/3D GPUs, display interfaces, and post-processing, and lead technology choices, early study, and patents.
5. Work with internal and external teams so the product ships on time.
What we look for
1. Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, electronic engineering, or communications, with more than five years at a chip vendor or a design house. A strong candidate can have fewer years.
2. Know the Android/Linux display stack: DRM, ARM Gralloc, Android HWComposer, SurfaceFlinger, and HWUI. Able to analyze CTS, VTS, and GTS issues.
3. Background in GPU, DPU, Vulkan, or OpenGL ES, and in HDMI, MIPI-DSI, eDP, or similar display interfaces.
4. Chip validation and Linux driver debug, with a solid grasp of how the display hardware works.
5. Work well across teams, and stay with a problem until it is clear.
6. Steady under a deadline, and able to use AI tools to move the work along.
