Embedded application engineer

2026-04-23 · Experienced hire

What you would do

1. Analyze embedded-device requirements, write the software design, and develop and tune application code on RTOS or Linux.

2. Develop peripheral drivers (UART, SPI, I2C, USB, and others), keep software and hardware stable together, and bring up the full unit with the hardware team.

3. Work through hard debug issues such as dropped data and stalls, improve the code, and keep the device stable at low power.

4. Write test cases, verify features with the test team, and produce technical documents such as a user guide and an interface note.

5. Work across teams, keep the software schedule visible, and land the requirements with product and hardware.

What we look for

1. Bachelor's degree or above in electronic information, computer science, automation, or a related field, with at least three years of embedded software work.

2. Strong C/C++, and at least one RTOS (FreeRTOS, RT-Thread, or similar) or embedded Linux, able to write and debug on your own.

3. Peripheral drivers such as sensors, radios, and displays. Familiar with TCP/IP, CAN, and UART. Audio, imaging, or OTA experience is welcome.

4. Use a scope and a logic analyzer, and find problems when software and hardware are brought up together.

5. Clear communication, able to work through problems, and willing to stay with a hard stretch of a project.
